How does the disinterest of parents influence the learning of their children?
How
does the disinterest of parents influence the learning of their children?
One as a teacher has different groups, third grade
group "B" or first group "D". Likewise, we have different
types of students, that is, we have some who learn in a different way,
classifying them as the one who learns quickly with a single explanation, the
one who looks for his way of learning by himself, the one who supports himself
with another partner, the who possibly only cops and stays that way, also the
one who only memorizes and finally the one who wants to learn, but has a hard
time and does not understand, even if he reviews it 2 or more times.
There is the case of a primary school girl, she is in
first grade, last year she left kindergarten. She has an excellent teacher who
is dedicated to her work and wants her students to learn. Since the girl went
to kindergarten, her parents did not try to take her to school. If there was a
party, they preferred to take her to school, because the girl would throw a
tantrum and not go, and her mother also sells tortillas on Wednesdays, so that
day she was taken to the square because there was no one to bring her. In the
same way, as the girl missed a lot of school, the parents did not worry about
helping her do her homework, or that she would sit down to practice what she
had done at school, that is, for the parents it was better than the girl I was
playing that it will annoy them. In short, they were not interested in her
daughter learning or in her going to school, and when they wanted the girl to
do homework, the little girl did not care, and she threw a tantrum of not
wanting to do anything. Then the parents resorted to other methods such as
hitting, yelling at her or having her sit there until she did homework.
Today, the girl is in first grade, she doesn't know
the letters, she barely recognizes the numbers, and she still can't read, not
even spell. Her parents are still the same, her mother on Wednesdays doesn't
even worry that she must help her daughter do her homework, her father leaves
on weekends and doesn't help her. So how is it that a little girl will learn
if, on the part of her parents, there is no interest. She will have an
excellent teacher at school, but her parents don't make a point of motivating
her daughter, the girl gets ahead, she will learn, but very slowly. And she
herself in the course of time will feel frustrated.
