Are observation practices a good tool for a teacher in training?

One as a student of the Tenancingo Normal, in the first year of the career, we must do internships, we are entitled to 3 internships of 2 days per semester. We're not going to do anything directly, throw yourself at that school, you'll teach classes.

In my opinion, I consider that the observation practices are of great help for our development as future teachers, since we could know how a teacher works, what types of students there are, what workshops, we identify what type of teacher we want. be in the future and we observe different strategies that teachers carry out. So, I do think it's good to have observation practices.

On the other point, in which I do consider that they are not good, it is because the truth is that one as a student then makes one sleepy, also how we are only going to observe, a lot of time is wasted, where we do nothing. Because, just as we are going to observe, the students also observe us. Sometimes, the teachers don't do anything new and the whole day is the same thing that is observed, then it is the only bad thing about the observation practices, you just go to observe and do nothing, and you get desperate.

An example of what marked me as a teacher in training was in an internship at Tonatico, that day we carried out a project that we were working on, it was to identify the different strategies that teachers apply when teaching. Well, in point is that that day we observed two practices, one of the Spanish degrees, but I don't remember what normal it was and the other English girl from the normal of Ixtapan de la Sal. There was a big difference in that they, the English girl was already in her penultimate year and the Spanish girl was in her second year. In that practice, I identified very well what type of intern I wanted to be. We also had the opportunity to interview the Spanish intern, she gave us some excellent advice for our future classes, strategies that we could apply, but they are doubtful, she told us, you feel safe in what you do, do not let the children finish them. The situation was that the English teacher did not have control of the group, and only reached a corner, indicated what they had to work on, which no student did, and only dedicated herself to grading when almost no one gave her anything, while everyone they are standing still, making noise. On the other hand, the intern in Spanish was her last week of internship there in that school, we observed her the two days we went, but she had control of her group, she interacted with them, she had extensive knowledge of what she was giving. On the last day, her children even told her they were going to miss her.

Observation practices are an important tool in the training of a teacher in training, they support the aspects in which we observe what type of teacher we want to be, how the teacher works, knowing the different students there are, it is much better than bad despite of the time we are there doing nothing.

¿Las prácticas de observación son una buena herramienta para un docente en formación?

Uno como estudiante de la Normal de Tenancingo, en el primer año de la carrera, debemos hacer prácticas, nos corresponde 3 prácticas de 2 días por semestre. Directamente no nos vamos a hacer de, lanza te para esa escuela, ya darás clases.

A mí criterio considero que las prácticas de observación son de un gran ayuda para nuestro desarrollo como futuros maestros, ya que tenemos la oportunidad de conocer cómo es que un maestro trabaja, que tipos de alumnos hay, que talleres, identificamos que tipo de maestro queremos ser en un futuro y observamos diferentes estrategias que los maestros realizan. Entonces yo si considero que es bueno tener prácticas de observación.

Por otro punto, en el que yo si considero que no son buenas son porque la verdad uno como estudiante luego le da sueño, también cómo solo vamos a observar, se pierde mucho tiempo, donde no hacemos nada. Porque, así como nosotros vamos a observar, los estudiantes también nos observan a nosotros. A veces, los maestros no hacen nada nuevo y en toda la jornada es lo mismo que se observa, entonces es lo único malo de las prácticas de observación, solo vas a observar y no haces nada, y te desesperas.

Un ejemplo de lo que a mí como docente en formación me marco fue en una práctica en Tonatico, ese día nosotros llevamos un proyecto con el que estábamos trabajando, era identificar las diferencias estrategias que los maestros aplican al dar clases. Bueno, en punto es que ese día observamos dos prácticas, una de la licenciatura de español, pero no recuerdo de que normal era y la otra chica de inglés de la normal de Ixtapan de la Sal. Hubo una gran diferencia en que ellas, la chica de inglés ya iba en su penúltimo año y la chica de español en segundo, yo en esa práctica identifique muy bien qué tipo de practicante quería ser. Así mismo tuvimos la oportunidad de entrevistar a la practicante de español, nos dio unos excelentes consejos para nuestras futuras clases, estrategias que podíamos aplicar, pero son duda nos dijo, ustedes sientan se seguras de lo que hacen, no dejen que los niños las acaben. La situación fue que la maestra de inglés no tuvo dominio del grupo, y sólo llegó a una esquina, dio indicado en lo que tenían ñ que trabajar que ningún alumno hizo, y solo se dedicó a calificar cuando casi nadie le entrego nada, mientras todos están parados, haciendo ruido. En cambio, la practicante en español era su última semana de prácticas ahí en esa escuela, la observamos los dos días que fuimos, pero ella tenía un dominio de su grupo, Interactuaba con ellos, tenía conocimientos amplios de lo que estaba dando. El último día, los niños hasta le dijeron que la iban a extrañar.

Las prácticas de observación son una herramienta importante en la formación de un docente en formación apoyan los aspectos en que observamos qué tipo de maestro queremos ser, como trabaja el maestro, conocer a los diferentes alumnos que hay, es mucho más bueno qué malo a pesar del tiempo que estamos ahí haciendo nada.
